how much difference with a FMIC
increase boost safely
The difference it makes is your intake air charge is cooler. Therefore you can run safer at higher than stock boost levels. Also 10psi with top mount vs 10psi front mount ...at the same boost levels you are making more horsepower. Also make sure to upgrade your fuel to maintain safe boost levels.
The FMIC makes a big difference. If you are running say 8lbs of boost on the stock IC, and you install the FMIC, you might go down in boost due to the extra length of piping to the FMIC. But the good news is that say you go down 1-2lbs of boost, that is way colder boost than the stock position IC would provide, so it evens out as far as stock goes. When you up the boost levels, you will be able to do so safely due to the FMIC and the lower intake temps.
as far as fuel mods...
I've got the walbro fuel pump, plan to get an AFC and eventually larger injectors. That should cover the fuel mods right? Right now I'm running two bars stoich and one bar rich, give or take when she is warmed up.
