How much did my 87 FI cost brand new?
Just having some interest in DMV's newest rates and was told it's supposed to based on depreciation of the vehicle. Don't know what my car origionally sold for (weithout options). I'm sure someone here does. Manual trans. Thanks.

FI? We need to know what model it was.
Does it have a suspension button? How big are the wheels? Does it have a sunroof? Power windows? Give us a good description of the options your car has, and it shouldnt be to hard to figure out how much it was new.

but not a lot of people refer to turbocharged cars as FI cars.
if it's a nonturbo, it was ~13k, for series 4 cars. that's the only figure i know off the top of my head.

Thanks. Never heard of forced induction. I was trying to find the number that DMV uses to determine depreciation on my car. Was told that for an *( or earlier that's .03 of the origional price without figuring options.
The reason is because of having read info from this website about how to tell if you're been paying too much and what you can do to correct it.
With the DMV's supposed to be tripling this October in California, I think this is important to know.
Haven't researched the validity of the statements of this website yet. That's next. Accordingly, I might already be paying higher fees than I should according to this website. 13k * .03 is $39 in fees. I paid $46. Close. Next year I'll pay $138.
My neighbor is paying $200 in DMV fees for his old pickup. Next year it'll be $600.

Your profile says you have an 87, I have the prices for 86 and 88 models, so Id assume 87 would be in between. Ill just list them:
86 models
base 11,995
GXL 16,645
2+2 12,495
2+2 GXL 17,145
88 models
SE 15,480
GTU 17,350
GXL 19,160
SE 2+2 15,980
GXL 2+2 19,660
'Vert 20,500
Now of course these prices will vary slightly depending on transmissions and options, but hopefully this will give you a good idea. There were a few other options on the 86 and 87 such as the "sport" models and luxory coupes, but they are basically just options packages.

without CA emissions, shipping, power steering, theft system, CD, or dealer mark up; the manufactures suggested dealer price of an 87 T2 was $19,345

Thanks! I knew you guys would have the answers. I must have either the Sport or the Luxury package. I definately don't have power windows or door mirrors, rear hatch wipers, or sunroof. Plus I have fuel injection. So I guess 13k is about right. Once again this site rules!!!

It had 4 lug wheels like the Luxury, but didn't have the power mirrors.
The what did my car come with sticky at the top of this section has the years, models and options, you can pretty much figure out from that what model you have.
