How much is this car worth? big pics!!

I need to get an rx7, im going through withdrawl. A friend showed me this one for sale, how much do you think its worth?

clicks are 200,000 + kms, it looks like a base n/a , it's an '88. window trim looks all smucked up, pretty much new interior is needed too. Missing both FTP lenses. apparently it runs fine.

I will buy it as a project car if anything, cuz i have a '93 civic HB now.

I live in CANADIAN FUNDS, so pls state whether your talking USD or CAN.

thanx guys.

its pretty much exactly the same as the car i had before , cept mine was a '87. I was thinking around 1000 can. too, that pretty much all i can afford anyway on top of my car, i can still barely afford 1000. I bought my civic , but i still want, well i guess NEED an rx7. visiting this forum just makes me want one even more.

Whats the big deal with it being four lug? and whats the diff between a GX and a base model???

rico05 : 800 US or canadian?

USD, sorry. Heavy, nasty, evil 4 lug. Just keep looking around. There are better ways to waste money than to buy that heap. The body is nasty, the interior is pathetic. And @ 200k miles, she's damn near on her last leg. Walk away. It ain't worth it! Just my $.02, though.

the Canadian GX was the same as the US 86 Luxury, or a SE model with a PEP (high power radio, Air conditioning, power mirrors, floor mats and sunroof).

That one is not worth more than $1000 USD unless there is a new motor in it.

Oh yeah, kilometers. See what he is asking, if it is less than $700 USD, and since it is in crappy shape he probally has no idea what he has, consider it. Anymore than that, just walk away.

The guy doesn't really have a set price, i told him $1000 canadian. Haven't got a reply yet though. There was also a chance of a new paint job free of charge.

Again thanx all

Well........I live in canada and I found a 1987 GXL with LSD, power everything, adj. suspension, REBUILT engine, new paintjob etc for only $1200 CANADIAN - runs smoother then any of my last 5 rx7's
- You just have to look arounds and be patient and wait for a sweet deal - its alot more fun when you get a car that is in good condition cause you can concentrate on fixing and tuning the more important things

Before you buy try to determine what you will spend in the next year or two on this car and if it will be worth much in two years. If you will spend $5k you may look for something in better shape, better maintained, less miles etc. I spent $3k two years ago and $3k since. I think I've been lucky, but another $3k could be right around the corner. 87 TII, 77k miles, still real nice and stock.
