If I wanted to have the hassles an inherit risks of owning a turbo car, I'd prob apy between 5,000 and 6,000 dollars for this car.

If you look at the detail of the engine bay it's an obviously meticulously cared for car.

On the other hand, without knowing that that that was an intercooler and thinking that your FD was too much to fix, I don't suggest you getting this car. 2nd Gen RX-7s take a good amount of care and knowledge to keep in great working condition, and this is even more true with turbos. Don't take this beautiful car and not know where your turbo, intercooler, boost controller, injectors, ecu, soap, sponge, wax, garage, cover, etc are. If you won't maintain a $10-$20k car, I don't think you'll do nearly enough for the 5-6k car.

Despite the new engine and parts the car is still about 16 years old... 2-4 years older than your FD. All parts not replaced will be worn, def including suspension, interrior, exterior, and drivetrain.

not sure if the US cars are different, but in the UK we haven't been able to re-flash the ECUs. I run a Microtech LT10s in mine.

The stock ecu would struggle with the fueling requirements of that setup at WOT I would imagine, also it is likely to run rich at low revs. I ran my bridgeport on the stock ecu for a while when I was running the engine in and it was a bitch for overfueling at low revs!
