how much is this car worth

i am looking to buy a '88 GXL. the car itself is in perfect condition other than a small peice of rust on the drivers rear quarter panel. it has 142,222 miles on it. it is also a one owner car, whom has EVERY single record for the car, window sticker, presale inspection sheet and tons more. it needs new shocks but other than that it runs perfect with a lot of power. i am going to take it to get a compression test done on it soon. they want 2800 for it but i have been talking to them and could get it for 2200. is this pretty resonable? i dont really know much about rx7 prices seeing that i bought my first one for 800 dollars from a good friend.

Thats a hell of a lot of miles. If the car looks and runs good though, I guess around 2k is fair.

it is a lot of miles but the couple bought it new and i think that they arent street racers with it so i mean, i think that they are well taken care of miles instead of thrashed miles. but thanks for your reply.

Check under front fenders/rockers for rust and all along each rail. If they let visable rust start probably more.

well there is a tiny bit of surface rust on them but it would be easily taken care of, it is just the bigger bubble rust that scares me.
