How much can an NA engine take?

Whats a safe boost setting for a turbo'd NA engine that wont dramatically shorten engine life? (as in still get 100k+ out of it with 2k mile oil changes). Any experience in this area? Aaron Cake perhaps?

with the n/a rotors? I'd guess 7-8 psi tops, but I have no experience with such a setup....

yeah, and a lot of people put the N/A rotors in their turbo motors when they do a rebuild. I think it depends on how often it sees boost. Yes, Aaron says his hits ten on almost a daily basis.

IIRC Aaron Cake ran 10psi just fine, maybe more.

When I go turbo or s/c (i will do one eventually, havent decided which yet) I've been thinking of running 10psi off of a fresh rebuild (broken in with no boosting) and see how that works.

does Aaron's car see 100K between rebuilds, though? that was a prerequisite, remember?

Yeah I'm pretty sure as well that it wasn't ever rebuilt before that. If you want to go check it out it's in the faq.

3rd gen? n/a motor at 15psi? what? Are you saying a 3rd gen put a 2nd gen n/a motor into it and turbo'd it? That doesn't make sense

sounds to me like he's saying a FD guy rebuilt his motor with N/A rotors, and is running 15psi.

Ah, I missed that whole rotor part... Oops.

Still, just because it has n/a rotors doesnt mean its the same as an n/a block. Im not surprised it was fine at 15psi just with n/a rotors.
