how much boost should i run??
ok i have a stock 89 tII, the only mods are the cats are cleaned out, a cat back, and a slight air box mod...drilled holes in it with a k&n filter. what is the stock boost my car should make, right now on my autometer boost gauge i get about 18 to 8.5 on vaccume and about 6 to 6.5 on boost. what is stck amounts???btw it is a JDM motor too.
stock is 8psi. if you are getting less then 8 then the factory boost controller is not working or not hooked up.
I wouldn't run more then 8 untill you get a bigger fuel pump and / or pump rewire

I thought stock boost was 5.5 for S4s, and S5s had the same wastegate spring, but the boost conroller would only raise it to 7-7.5.
I have a S5 that will have a full exhaust, intake, and posted wastegate. I have a walbro fuel pump sitting next to the car right now, and I was going to take off the stock boost conroller and run a cheap ball and spring MBC.
Fuel cut is at 8.6psi, so you'll want a FCD if you plan to get close to that, also the stock ECU doesn't have good timing maps for above fuel cut, so I wouldn't go much above it until you can get your timming pulled back a little.
I was going to try to run just under fuel cut with my rewired walbro, untill I can save up enough for a mircotech, then, the sky is the limit.
