Cool How much boost with my setup before it gets dangerous?

-Rebuilt s4 engine with hurley race apex(2mm) and FD3S springs but STOCK PORT and NO DOWELS.
-Greddy TD06 kit
-Microtech with a proper tune
-walbro-255LPH and 2*720cc and 2*1680cc injectors
-3" from and to the turbo
-Large FMIC
-Better radiator
-wideband, EGT, oiltemp and so on.
-NGK BUR9 sparkplugs
-8.5mm sparkplugwires

I want a daily driver with a safe and fast setup, but i dont know how much boost my engine can take and how much power i will have at that boost.

How about 14-15PSI on street-gas and about 20psi on racegas?

Recommended AFR?
Recommended EGT?

The reason for all my questions is simpel.... nobody in sweden is " supernatural" in rotary tuning and i want to be rather safe then sorry.

I don't care if i loose some driveability or some Horsepowers, i want a reliable engine ( but above 350hp on the flywheel would't be wrong)

Fill me up with info!! :-D

I would push it to 25 psi on pump gas if it has 8.5:1 rotors....But for a safe tune, run it at 20 psi on 91-93 octane, for more safety margin run a set of ngk race plugs in the 11-11.5 range..
Steer it toward 11:1 and begin your timing reset from 24 deg TDC downward from 0 psi and up...If the EGT probe is in the turbo inlet, I would aim for mid 900's C, if its not there, move it there..

20PSI ON PUMP GAS...is that a SAFE tune...the egt is in the manifold!

This sounds like i could break 350hp kinda simple.

So the timing should be set to 24 deg@0psi and then 23deg@1psi and so on?

Here in sweden the gas is 99octane...but it counts after another system.... think it's 94-95octane in your system!?

Wink

Kinda [offtopic], I looked up the Greddy TD06 and rx7store.net says that kit is for 89-91's (s5), what's up with that? You said yours is an s4? (That's what I own too.) Did you have to do anything special to set it up?

Back [ontopic], this thread asks the same basic question: https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ght=safe+boost though he has a different setup... slightly.

I'd say, judging from that thread and others - 12-14psi: street.

no problems fitting the greddy kit on the s4....
But the "engine-to-turbo" oil line needs to be custom and the ACV and airpump does not fit anymore!
