How much boost?

Since I got the s5 TII I pretty much have to go with SAFC instead of the rtek. My setup wont be too extreme so I dont really want to go with an EMS. I'll have just an s5 13BT ported with the racing beat porting template. Full turbo-back exhaust, TID, intake, FMIC, 720cc secondaries, walbro pump. I plan to keep the stock turbo.

Alright to my question now. How much boost would you say is safe to run with this setup with proper tuning? I'm asking because of the stock ecu not retarding the ignition after about 9-10psi.

Well, the stock turbo can't run more then about 12psi as you probably know..

But with the proper tuning, I'd say yeah, about 10-11psi.

But if you want to be safe...

Technically it can run higher, you just arent making any more power and are stressing stuff out.

19 psi would be fine. Avoid the detonation. Buy a timming retard control.

Even if you could get the stuck turbo to 19 psi, it is incredable ineficient at those boost levels. I think 10-12 is the omtimum boost level for the stock turbos.

I'd pull the stock turbo and build a hybrid out of it....
