now for this question. I was running the stock vert ecu with my setup( yes I was told I was insane and all this ****), but if the vert ecu is compatible with the TII ones, then does this timing still aply?? would I need to change the pressure sensor to a TII one, or would the n/a be fine? the motor is out waiting for some parts a haltec will be used, but I wanted to know just incase...

thank you pengaru, you answered that question perfectly.

i am now running ~10-11psi with 20 degrees of advance and a 9 degree split and its running great around 11.2:1 AFR's. and i have it docking down 1* per psi up to 15 (i only have a 2bar map sensor) i'd say its about medium, not agressive and not conservative.. how does that compare to the hitman maps?

its kind of scary how secretive some people are with these timing "tips." people will pay like 300+ dollars to go get their cars tuned by these professionals and then never share their timing settings with any of us... anyone else care to share their timing setups?

20 degrees of advance @ 11psi seems aggressive compared to the hitman 13bt maps. But hitmans maps are conservative base maps to start out with, so not a very useful comparison there.

Considering some people say not to run more than 24 degrees btdc on a NA, 20 degrees @ 11psi seems like quite a bit of timing.

I wouldnt try pushing the timing much more unless your intercooler is very efficient and you know your intake temps are cool, and be sure to ramp up the timing retard in the intake temp ignition correction map if you put more advance in the base ignition map. You wouldnt want to detonate just because the IC got heat soaked.

You'll get more power staying conservative with the timing and running more boost though, wheres that 3 bar map sensor?

If high boost is really a problem just retard the cas 5 degrees

The stock ecu supposedly runs very conservative ignition timing anyways

i dont plan on going over 15psi without racegas and i cant afford racegas so i'll stay under 15

I have a few ?'s here. First I will state im quite knowledged and dad is far qualified but I am fairly new to turbos and tunning them. That being said now I can say what I need to know.
I am running a 88gtu with S4 TII swap using a convertable ECU. I swaped a full TII clip so I have evry TII part but ECU.

Mods on this car are.
3in Intercooler piping. "aluminum"
dry ice box "not used all the time of cource"
Front mount intercooler core is 15.5" x 11.5" x 3" Overall lenght is 22.5"
Greddy type RS BOV
FD fule pump
Ported polished TB
Koyo RAD
Knowlogy hot wires
Upgraded grounds
Foam cone filter
removed emishions
FCD
MBC
Boost guage
JDM down pipe
muffler shop exhoust 2.5in with 2 mufflers no cats
stock TID
compreshion is 100psi

So the ? resides in how much boost can I ran how much should I run and what should I retard the CAS timing to?

Why would they share them, when they paid the money??? thats like me buying a $300 pc program, then buring the cd and handing it out. I think that anyone that releases their tunning informing is a great and awesome person. But just cuz you tune and your **** comes out right and on top, that you have to share or give out information that you spend money to get..

But thats why we have computers. Its about sharing. I dont charge for evry program i write. How meany free programs do you own? How meany hrs do you think the programer spent into it? I think evryone should share as well I think software should be open source we all have nuthing to lose but evrything to gain it allows other tuners to exsperament and improve and share thus inclining you get a bettor setup over time for free through others testing.

For someone who is supposedly knowledgeable, are you doing this with the stock turbo???

If so, the 3" IC piping is a waste of time - you're actually losing boost and adding lag due to the "big" IC pipes.

Second, your exhaust system is too small.
The 13BT likes at least a 3" exhaust, and your 2" mufflers are too restrictive...unless you're trying to prevent boost creep???

yes it is stock turbo one reson im asking is b/c of that.
3in I know but im planning on a T66.
I know its a lil small right now but its 2.5in where I said 2 i was meaning to put jdm down pipe and include that it had 2 muffelrs in back.

all were the reson I was asking b/c the setups are not = to its strongest point with its setup where should I place the boost for max and for safe levels.
