Question how to measure I/C piping???

measuring pipes for you intercooler
I just bought an intercooler with the following measurments:

720mm*230mm*80mm 2.5" thick piping

Now here is my question... how in the hell am I going to be able to measure the length of the piping??? I'm learning as I go and I could just take the car to a shop and have them do the magic but what fun is that plus the more I know what to do with my car the more money I'll save for future mods...

I've searched the archives and what not and haven't come across anything... Let me know what guys think

by the way, I have an 88 vert

you can either mock it up with something and measure that, or you can buy a shitload of pipe and have extra.
