how many miles do you get on a full tank in your NA

I was just wondering, cuz one of my friends has an NA and he gets 250 miles on a full tank all city miles. I get about 140 miles all city on my car. So how many city miles do you get on your NA?

20-21MPG, 15 gallons, 300miles with mixed city & highway driving. 260 if I'm always on surface streets when I drive it hard. That's with a new SINGLE catalyic converter replacing the old 3 piece ones. (aka NA downpipe/partial headers)

If your mileage starts slipping excessively.

1) Check that your sparkplugs aren't excessively coated in carbon / clean them (every 15K miles)
2) Tuneup including plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter
3) Make sure your catalytic converter's are not clogged, replace with 1 high performance converter.
4) Have fuel injectors rebuilt, cleaned, & blueprinted
5) check hot engine compression (requires rotary specific compression tester that supply 6 different numbers - the mazda dealership can check this for you)
6) check the fuel strainer in the fuel tank (drain the tank first)

This assumes you don't have vacuum leaks or check engine lights. If you've got leaks between the MAF (mass airflow sensor) and intake you mileage will drop and you should see a check engine light or pull new codes off the computer.

I don't use the '7 for much but long distance highway running, and if I get any less than 300 miles before the fuel light comes on (3 gal left, S4 NA), I get annoyed.

I get about 250 with city and stop-go freeway traffic.

I can get high 200s to 300+ if its a long freeway trip so I can leave it in 5th and set the cruise control.

Have an 87 GXL.

17.5 mpg driving with hardly boosting it on the freeway towards the bay. Full tank wise the worst I got was 175 best I think was 215. The flames are just too much fun

Yeah tune-up will help. Also shift at 3K or wherever your "Shift Up" light comes on, also accelerate lightly and not with a lead foot.

Lots of tips for getting better gas mileage are in another thread but too lazy atm to find teh link for it...

why drain the tank first? i did it with 3/4 tank of gas with no problem. the fuel strainer is one thing most people prob for get about but helps ALOT.
