Question How many 7's came with 2+2?

I have been wondering for a while now because im not sure what models or years came in 2+2 so if any one would like to tell me that would be great.

Thanks

Mine is an 86' TII and it's a 2+2.

I'm in Australia though.

In America, the 2+2 seats mostly came in the GXL models, but were also sometimes found in the Base, SE, and Luxury models. None of the American TII's had 2+2 seating. Note that the seats will fit in any of the coupe 2Gen models, so sometimes people will swap salvage or aftermarket seats into a car which didn't have them originally.

My 90 T2 had the seats put in by the dealer apparently. The door sticker lists it as a 2 seat car however. It's all moot since I got the bins and put them in and then installed a rollbar to further block the rear area. Want my rear seats? They're in good shape and are either leather or a leathery material.

No, the back seats suck IMO. America got shafted on the convertible and maybe a few other things, but we got the fun Sport, 88 GTU, and GTUs models, an affordable option for new car buyers in the Base and SE models (IMO why the 3rd Gen didn't sell), and we got what many purists consider the best production RX-7 ever made, the GSL-SE.

im talking about imports in general, evo still not here, sti still not here, cosworth escort/seirra, not here, lotus elise, ya if you want a honda motor in it. rx7 left early, 300zx left early, no silvia, no skyline, clio v6 nope. cosmo nope. awd turbo celica nope. if i wanted a fun affordable rwd drive car i'd get a miata.

back seats are nice sometimes. i know kid on this forum who drives a tii, he makes his brother and sister double buckle cause he has no back seats.

I want a grey cloth back seat in good shape for my TII. Anyone have one for sale - at a reasonable price?

celica awd turbo

sbertolone: We did in fact get the Celica AWD Turbo. A buddy of mine has it, it's the water-to-air-intercooled one, a '91 model I think...

Like the other option (2 bins) is better??? What you gonna put in those bins anyway. It's a car not a storage shed

2+2 gets you lower insurance rates and the rare time you need to take 3 people it comes in handy. When the seat is folded down you hardly even know its there.

I had 2 + 2 seats In my GXL at one point. Hardly worth It.
I found 91 TII Black Interior and swapped out everything Inside. I use the storage bins more than I used the rear seats.
Then again, I never had anyone under the age of 6 or 4 ft tall In the back of my car. To bad I threw them out. Theres a strange demand for them now.

Which insurance carrier lowers their rates if you have the 2+2 seating? I have been driving RX-7's since 1988, and the only difference in pricing that I have ever seen for the 2Gen is that the convertible models are more expensive. In fact, the TII has always been the same price as an NA 2Gen for every insurance carrier that I have ever had.
