You'll probably die of high blood pressure before you even get on the plane.

Geez, moderators hasn't locked this one up yet???

I normally have tremendous respect for armed forces personnel...that why I haven't commented on the whole "jar head" or Vietnam War thing.&nbsp If you got the ***** to go die for your country, my hat is off to you...

My bet this is some dork trying to make idle threats cause he can't back his sh*t up.&nbsp He put his foot in his mouth, and now he looks all stupid.&nbsp So what does he do?&nbsp Pretend he makes sense and has the falses sense that other people agree with him...

I really don't give a f*ck.&nbsp I do this to help others.&nbsp I don't do this to stroke my ego.&nbsp I could care less what you think of me.&nbsp I know I'm not perfect; I know of others who would think I'm a grade A assh*le that think just like you of me...

Think about it...the Vietnam War ended in the early 70's.&nbsp That makes you at least in your late 40's or 50's.&nbsp I find the idea of a 50-something year old man chasing me cause he cannot read my posts right a bit funny at best...

*Mild/Medium Street port (Racing Beat is Great, so is Atkins Rotary and many more)
*Haltech ECU (VERY IMPORTANT)
*Custom TO4 Turbo (w/ Crispeed Manifold- should be cheaper and more powerful than the HK$ and GReddy kits)
*Custom FMIC and Piping- Theres lots of great cores out there that cost alot less than the ~$1200 GReddy and HK$ want for thiers- Local muffler shop should be able to bend up the pipes super easy for you
*Upgraded fuel pump (i think the popular walbro 255 will work for you)
*720cc/min primaries ~1200cc/min primaries (probably way overkill here 4x 720 should accually be fine)
*Any of the popular BOVs will work since you wont be running a ton of boost
*FULL RACING BEAT TII EXHUAST! Screw that 'tuner' ****. Its not worth the price. For the price of a GReddy or Apexi CAT-BACK you can get the FULL 3" RB exhuast with a SS pre silencer and SS muflers.
*Maybe need a custom DP to go with the crispeed manifold and turbo
*Build your own intake from a universal K&N filter for $40
*Stock Wires and Plugs are fine. Use only NGK plugs- Using 9's all the way around will give you a little better highway performance
*Stock Ignitors are fine, you may want to add a CDI ignition box
*Remove all the emmisions crap- wont need it with the Haltech anyways
*Gauges man! Gauges! EGT/Boost/Water Temp/Fuel Pressure/Oil Pressure/Oil Temp! The first two are manditory, the rest are good
*You'll need to do some work on the suspension as some stuff will be worn out
*Roll Cage?
*clutch/flywheel? ACT makes great clutches

If you run 10psi you can probably put down 300rwhp with this setup- it might even make that HP with less boost. And if you find it too slow you can turn up the boost and re-tune it if nessicary.
I think im going with this SETUP. I have most of the stuff that you listed except the bigger turbo, manifold, wastegate, and HALTECH.ohh and gauges too...I will get them though!..

What do you think of this TURBO???..i want my car for street/weekend only!..
T04B V-trim compressor, P-trim turbine w/ .96 A/R turbine housing.

im only aiming for 350 to the wheel HP =)

ted is right, what he means by fast is a car with at least 300h.p. and if youre going to spend money to buy all this expensive electronic gadgets to up the fuel pressure or to get more boost(when most of you dont even use the dyno to tune it)some of you even gut the cats.rip out the emission devices put big exaust pipes(that just make annoying noises)a few even use expensive pain in the butt to install computers(haltech)when the car is only worth $2500,and to top it off most cars in this board are not even running!because the owner has jacked with it so much the wirings and the s-afc the a/fmeters the 720cc injectors just messes things up.tune it for reliability and thats it!(intake,downpipe,high-flow cat.)and you'll have a fun reliable car,if you want big power buy a turbo Z theyre cheap now or a supra.sorry guys maybe most of you are still in youre teens so i understand.

Actually I would have to say this is one of those rare instances where Ted is wrong!
I respect Ted. He is a major asset to the RX-7 community, but I disagree with him on this topic.
If you want to have a 350 HP RX-7, the recipe that was given to you is the only way to go.
There are some things you can trim off the list like a full Racing Beat exhaust (you can make your own for a lot cheaper)
You don't need an ignition computer.
You don't have to have youir engine re-built and street ported. ( Buy a J-Spec for $750)
You can find intercoolers off of old trucks in the junk yard.
Your car will still be a rotary unlike the Z cars and Supras!
You will also be WAY faster than a stock FD and more reliable at half the cost.

Question

Can someone tell me why porting and re-building the engine would be important?

Listen, I don't know much about cars or RX7's.... I just have a little interest in RX7's and stumbled onto this message board.

Thankyou.

I'm with AMIR - Ted's a *******.

... sorry man, couldn't resist. I'm with Ted on the FC loyalty though. I've dumped a lot more than I want to admit to myself into my FC, and there's no end in sight. The plan is to make it a total track weapon that's clean enough for shows - in fact, my car might be in a booth at the Nopi Nats.

Good luck with your FC project. It's nice to see that there's still enthusiasm for them.

Can i join in the whacking?

You'll need to talk to someone like RiceRacing or Crispeed about the exact trims you need- Im far from a turbo expert, but i THINK with the proper compressor and exhuast wheels you can make 350rwhp at about 15psi with a very smooth hp/torque curves, and minimal lag-

Like i said though, talk to cris or RiceRacing-

It sounds like one of the first mods you should make (also one of the most productive) is your exhaust system? I'm pretty clear on that, but what would be the next step?

0351 no big deal... he shoots mortars I think. Or should I say formerly shot mortars... Or is that dragons... sheesh... I always mix up 51/52... either way, woopeee. (Kinda like the artillary guys... can't hit a reasonable sized target so they give him a weapon that you don't have to be accurate with.)

(BTW I had the highest rifle-range score in my regiment, 236 out of 250 possible...)

If you are serious about cars, don't read superstreet. They do have some good information, but they also have a lot of BS. Read Sport Compact Car or Grass Roots Motorsports.

Oh, and don't mind the flamers. All rotary owners actually love each other. Like their engines, rotor heads get hot easily. Don't let that discurage you from modding your rotary. Good Luck!

As for the exhaust I would go with the Apexi NI single. I have it on my N/A and it shoots 3ft flames. Apexi is also on of the best companies out of Japan where true supercars come from. I mean have you guys seen the Apexi R34. Daaaammmmmnnnnnn
Also those style exhausts are proven to make the most horsies.

Good call. There wasn't nearly enough petty name calling in this thread.
