How loud will my NA be...

With RB dual outlet header - into glasspacks as pre-silencers and then into racing beat mufflers?

Describing noise levels is very subjective and almost impossible. But the word "loud" comes to mind when I think of a rotary and any type of header.

loud, like annoyingly loud in the car, and if you go above 5k rpm people MILES away will know you are coming

here is a clip of my car with various catbacks on my header/presilencer setup

Glass pack presilencers will NOT stand up to the heat & shock waves of the NA rotary. The presilencer (resonator) must be all steel. You can get away with glass packs on the end, where it's cooler. My bombs have been on a year, and are just now starting to give out.

I think the first one didn't have the pre-silencer because that's how mine sounded like before. the second one has a pre-silencer added. now i wonder what the third one is setup with.

what the hell?

My car quiets down at higher RPMs, I have on the stock header=>precat, then midpipe, and catback, but its louder in the mid-range. Precats clogged?

edit: My car sounds like the 3rd one till about 5000-6000rpm then it quiets down and slows down.

You ever heard of a sonic boom from the airplane flying overhead?
Just imagine that going on constantly when you drive.

Xentrix, what are your setups for that sound file you supplied? It's great to hear a sample of what to expect but i think we all would like to know which setup will give you which particular result.

Haha, I am not joking...
The glass packs will melt within 5 blocks, then the mufflers without presilencer will drone like crazy...

I had the exhaust installed and NONE of those soundclips are even close. It's actually pretty quiet. My mufflers aren't straight through, I'm not sure what they are, maybe Dynomax...I decided not to put the RB ones on, I'll save those for a rainy day...

Oh yeah, the presilencers we used were some type of resonator packed with steel wool and lava rock. The pipe is straight through in the resonator, but the interior of the pipe is perforated with raised dimples like a cheesegrader would have...

Anyway it sounds good and is actually quieter on the freeway at even throttle (not accelerating) than my downpipe/presilencer combo...

oooo,
My exhaust is loud with no presilencer, and glass packs.
Dude you don't know the meaning of loud exhaust until you have to disconect your cat to start the car and run it to see how bad the cat is clogged. I got aprox.150ft. down the road from my house and I had a throbbing head ache. I turned back at aprox. 250ft. because I didn't feel like driving a car that loud. I couldn't even consentrate on the road. This car had from precat back removed. It sounded awsome though. Something to really be proud of.
