How loud is a stock TII fuel pump?

Where should it be audible from? Outsite the tank by the rear wheel or in the hatch with all of the carpeting pulled up?

Going to yank it later to make sure that it's working, woke up this AM to a engine that was acting like it was flooded initially...

I can't really comment on the TII Pump on account of the Walbro was Installed at the time of the TII conversion. Heres a How Loud Is Your Walbro Thread, fwiw. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ghlight=walbro

You obviously grounded your Check Connector to confirm If your Pump was working, right? Probably so.

The fuel pump is getting a full 12V via a relay switched on by the microtech. I checked the relay under the hood and that was good, however I didn't hear the pump at all. It was about 20 degrees outside and I spend a bit of time removing the plugs and cleaning those off thinking it'd be a simple flooding problem.

Going to check the voltage at the pump when I get back after work, then maybe yank the pump if it's getting voltage but not working...if it does work, well ****, I have other problems...

Since I had my LT8 In, I carried an extra Relay - just b'c. It's cheap assurance.

I'm assuming that If Mazda designed the Fuel Pump to be audible when the Check Connector Is grounded, than you'd be able to hear It when you perform the test. If you are actually wanting to confirm this, try pulling off the feed line (at the Engine Bay). Have someone turn the Ign ON and catch the fuel with a bundle of rags. It's a dirty test, I know. But atleast you spare yourself the pain of removing the assembly etc.

Just thought I'd add, the motor still has compression, I can hear the chugs out of the exhaust...doesn't reek of fuel though...

I'll try the fuel line idea when I get back, does make sense!

Your going to have fun breaking free the Fuel Line off the metal line. I use a lot of saliva to slip back the line In place. Aaron Cake uses Astro glide. I'm serious.

I remember having fun with the lines on the charcoal canister...the canister broke before the line came free...

easist way to hear it is removing the fuel cap and putting your ear there.

but you should be able to hear if if you lift the rear carpet up.
