car smokes alot
Just looking for a little feed back. I have a 90 turbo2 that has been superstreet ported, i currently have all the polution controls removed from the car and blocked off, i am runing cutsom pipe straight back no cat, the problem i am haveing is my car seems to smoke like crazy when i start it up for maybe 5 min tops then it will have no visible smoke, i am pretty sure the smoke is unburnt fuel and was wondering if there is any thing i can do to prevent it from smoking so much. Any help would be great, thanks..

what colour is the smoke? Does it smoke when say you stop at lights for a few mins then take off again? If yes and the smoke is white, it could be a blown turbo seal. If not, your car could be running rich and it could just be blowing unburnt fuel, if so get it tuned. Check this stuff out and if u still cant work it out, get it to a mechanic!

if the turbo seal was the problem wouldn't it smoke under load, not idle, the smoke is white but like i said once the car is warmed up i get no smoke, oh and yeah it usually doesn't smoke when cold unless i stop at a light or something, and it kinda seems that if i am above 2k rpm it keeps it from smoking , so i was wondering if it might have somethign to do with the choke system and it is just sending too much fuel when the car is cold , and if that is the case is there any way to adjust it

Well first is the color of the smoke white, and has a sweet smell to it? That means coolant seal in the engine is shot = need to rip apart the engine to replace that. Does it smoke only when cold, or does it smoke if it's warm and you turn it on? If it only smokes for the first 5 minutes its probably nothing to worry about. I doubt you are running rich because it only happens for 5 minutes. As long as its not white sweet smelling smoke you are OK. BTW if it smokes while under boost your turbo is shot. Good luck!
