How loud do you figure this will be? Seriously.

I plan on getting my true dual exhaust done by the end of the month. The plan is to run an RB road race header with dual 2" piping all the way to two Sebring Tuning straight-through cans. I already have the header and cans, it's just a matter of whether I can get away with no presilencers, or if it'll kill my ears. I'm really short on cash right now so unless absolutely necessary I'd like to go without any, but I'd like input from anyone with experience with a similar setup. Thanks.

Also, what do you guys think of Sebring Tuning exhaust products? I know it's too late now but it would be nice to have some input on these as well. http://www.sebringtuning.com/new/main.html

The po-po will be on you faster than a fat kid on a cupcake. So, I agree with what has been stated above. Save up because you will end up paying more for the inevitable tickets.

So true. there was a guy here, same guy who did the cold intake mod in the archive, who ran straight racing beat headers and nothing else on his convertable. it was incredibly loud, like crazy loud, like those harley's running straight pipes loud. He made some videos of it, it sounded pretty badass though.

I have a home made true dual setup, and I thought it was quiet as hell, didn't see what everyone was wining about.(this was after a leaky exhaust though). Eventually thought it was too loud because of the constant loud pitch on my 3 hour drive home on the weekends it would give me(and no radio!!) eventually very annoying. Then a state trooper confirmed that it was to loud, and gave me a warning. Me, being strapped to cash, went out and bought two cherry bombs and put them in after the header. A much noticed addition! pretty darn good for just cherry bombs, They were to wide, and the pipes were to close together so i had to dent them a little to weld in place. but in the end, it was a worthy 40$ spent. You can see it on my rx7club page...later

My true dual exhuast system conisted of roadrace headers, 2 22" Magnaflow muffers about 60$ a pop, and racing beat n/a rears. Nice and quiet at idle and cruise.. really deep. Then it would scream between 5.5k-8.5k.

So with out presincers and good rear mufflers, that thing is going to be pretty damn loud at idle and cruise.. and at WOT your ears will be bleeding.

seriously consider putting some sort of presilencer in it, or you will end up paying for one anyways......if you know what i mean..

Rotary exhaust is EXTREMELY loud unmuffled

Hes not lying about loudness. For instance if you stand behind a na with only a header on it, it will almost feel like someone is hitting you in the chest...........at half throttle!

Thumbs up

i just put on the RB downpipe and presilencer with dual universal apex'i N1 on my 88 vert and was loud as hell but it sounded great... But I also bought the silencers for the apex'is and it quiet it down a bit at idle, but after about 2500 rpm it was pretty loud but not as loud without the silencers. And also dont be cheap on your exhaust just save some more money you'll be happier with the quality and results.

The loudness of your exhaust will be directly proportional to the quality and cannister size of the mufflers. Thats why the Racing Beat mufflers are considered some of the best. Send the Sebring back and buy the Racing Beat.

The thing is, I've been putting off the exhaust for months. I finally have a decent amount of cash right now and I want to get it done before I find a "good deal" on something else and put if off for another month. That and I want it to be as light as I can get it. I don't want to weigh down my 86 Base any more than I have to. The Sebring Tunings are SS by the way. I bought them off a guy on Team FC3S so I can't really return them.

I think I found a place that can do the piping pretty cheap. Looks like cherry bombs it is. I know of a lot of guys running really loud exhausts around here but I'd rather not take the chance. I can deal with the noise myself, but I am a little concerned about the cops.

Thanks for the advice.

Just for kicks. When I was putting my exhaust on. I had to seperate the header form the rest. Once I got the header bolted on, while no one was paying attention, I jumped in and started the motor. The Concrete under the car shook! It was really (and I mean really) Loud. Everybody **** in their pants. It's was very funny

Just have put on a couple glass packs, they are cheap new and they would probably give you some old ones.

Well, my dad was supposed to get the number of a guy that does really cheap exhaust work from a guy he works with, but the guy wasn't in today so I'll have to wait until next week to get something lined up.

Old glasspacks? I want something that will at least last until the end of the summer I'll probably pick up a couple of cherry bombs on the way to the Minnestota RX meet tomorrow.

Socks in the exhaust? That was a joke, right?

Now one more question: Will I see any flames? I do think it would be cool to have fireballs, but then again I park my car in the yard with the rear up against woods.
