how to install vert top?

Call me a noob or whatever...I've been searching for an hour and I can't find a good example of how to install a convertible top on a S5 rx7. Can someone give me a link? Thanks.

Install? As in remove the top completely and then reinstall it? There are detailed instructions in the Factory Service Manual. If you don't have it, go to www.iluvmyrx7.com and download it in PDF format for free. You only need the Body chapter for now.

Have any of you actually installed a new top? I just bought a new Robbins top and I hear it's a little tricky to do.

I have done it.
If you take your time, read the instructions - AND FOLLOW THEM, it shoud be no problem for you.
Having a helper for the process seems worthwhile.

I did install it myself. It went pretty smoothly actually. It took me all of 10-12 hours to do, but I was really taking my time. If I had to do over again I would say 5-6 hours to do it. The hardest part was lining up the bottom part near the trunk lid and installing the bolts in. That part was a 2 person job. Other than that everything was pretty easy...and the end result looks great. The crappy part was 2 days after I installed it...I got a cut right near the edge of the top by the targa portion. I don't know if I did it removing the targa or if a rock hit it, but I was a little upset by it. Ahh well. Email me if you have any questions. Good luck.

I did mine and all I can say is BE CAREFULL when you cut out the back window. A little mistake there is unforgivable. Some of my staples are BARELY covered by the window trim after readjusting it twice.
