i was going to install a dynomax ultra flo SS muffler where my cat would be to make my exhaust a little bit quieter, and they are supposed to handle up to 1500 degrees and i was wondering how close would the temp be to that?...

I believe I've heard the terms "Dragon's Breath" and "Fires of Hell" applied to rotary exhaust.
Look at some of the EGT threads to get a good idea, but generally, unless it's a part designed for rotary use (or uber-turbo nitrous racing use) it's going to fry quickly.

Sound deadening is handled by stainless steel mesh along with continuous roving fiberglass mat that won't blow out (it's heat resistant to 1500°F!). Construction throughout is high chromium content, high luster T-304 stainless steel.

well there were various mufflers going around in there why not use one of those...oh and by the way, if you mount it further away from the original cat position you should be fine with that muffler you linked to
