How hard to swap out a Dash??
I may be getting a 87T2 as a project car, it's pretty beat but the main thing that concerned me is a big crack in the dashboard. How difficult is it to take out the dashboard, and how hard would it be to find a used one in good shape? I know I've tried removing a dash out of a '93 Probe GT, and after about 2 hours of trying we just gave up. Anyone done this before and can give me some info??? Thanks alot..

If the dash is all that you are swapping then it's about a day's worth of work. Let me see if I can remember all the bolts that you have to take out...
Three on top under the defroster panel,
two on each side of the dash behind the side vents, one (or two)on each side of the lower center console, two at the rear of the shifter console
This does not include the wiring harness, glove box, misc. heater ducts, speedo/guage console, logicon and other small items to take off.
All the bolts are 10mm or phillips head and you will need extensions and a open end 10mm wrench.
Take your time, label everything and double check everything when putting the dash back in.
Hope this helps.

The very first thing you should start with Is the 3 bolts on the top of the defroster panel. The little one In the center, under the rectangle cap Is a bugger...You'll need a 7mm.
On the sides of the dash remove the plates that access more bolts. Becareful b'c they break very easily. I managed to break a few plastics of my old Dashboard when I removed It. I'm glad I did b'c by doing this, I was able to not have that happen again with the good Dash.
After removal of the Dash, don't be overwhelmed and say what the hell did I get Into? Not that hard to R&R. Be patient...

The procedure for removing the dash is in the body section of the FSM, available at FC3S.org.
Finding a dash in good shape shouldn't be too hard. Salvage yards, classifieds. Price, I can't really say, but I'm guessing it shouldn't be more than $200.
