How hard is it to go from S4 to S5 interior?

I have got a burgundy interior and want to swap with a black interior. How hard is it to go from S4 to S5? I figure if I’m going to be spending the money to buy an entirely new interior anyway, I may as well go to the S5 interior while I’m at it. Do most of the parts bolt in, or is there a lot of modification needed? I mean, the entire interior, A pillar panels, headliner, everything. I’m guessing that swapping the carpeting on the sunroof will be relatively difficult to swap anyway. Anything I should watch out for, or isn’t worth the hassle to update from S4 to S5, and just swap to black S4 instead?

I already have aftermarket steering wheel and seats, so I won’t be swapping them.

If any of that didn’t make sense, ask and I’ll clear it up.

Its going to take a good amount of money, and some time to track down a good matching set. Once you have them grab yourself a haynes manual, screwdriver, and a small metric ratchet set and patience, its going to be a weekend project.

I'm not OVERLY worried about the money. I mean, I don't want to spend a stupid amount of money, but I'm not too worried about cheaping out, and I don't necessarily have to do it all at once.

I just really want a black interior. :o

I'm probably not going to do it all at once, and as said above the money is not the large issue, it's the tracking down of the parts.

What interior pieces stayed the same in S4 and S5?

Pretty much everything but: radio surround, warning light/cluster, guages are different, but DO NOT USE S5 GUAGES, everything else is the same except for colors, and these parts are interchageable still.

I dont know people hate the burgandy so much. Its all ive ever had and I like it. I suppose when i need to replace parts and pieces...it will be much easier and cheaper than all the other colors, huh!?

LoL...we'll see....interior is prolly that last thing on my list.

Unless of course you are saying cheap as in .50 cents per peice...then maybe it can be moved up the list! :p

Shipping would kill me though.

My S5 int. has a lot of S4 peices, everything fit like stock. Was alot easier for me to track down S4 pieces around here, cause their aint alot of S5's locally for some reason.

Just to let everyone know, I updated my pics on the thread posted before hand. (linky), so you can see what a half-converted interior looks like (I left the grey carpet, I like the look).

Enjoy.
