Question How hard to drop in 20b? Banzai's cost too much!!

i'm just curious as to how hard it would be to put a 20b in an FC? I would to do that over a long time like 2-3 year FC build up covering everything. It just cost toomauch to get a Banzai or something like that.

Ok on a scale of 1-10?

Which ever way you do it it's going to cost alot of money, but the Banzai costs so much due to it being a FD and they have to Extencivly modifiey it (ie Subframe etc) to get the engine in as the mountings are in diffrent places.

What you have to remember when you do the 20b mod you have to change most of the Fuel,Ignition system and mountings. And to my knolage there is only one after market Ecu that will run the 20b split Ignition (Motech) which is alot of money.

So basicly its going to cost when you add labour to fit it all to.

I belive the atual mod on a FC isnt that bad to do if you have the cash to do it.

Plan on spending about $20,000 USD for the 20B swap on an FC. You could do it for half that for a bare-bones swap if you are an ASE mechanic with a welder, mill, and full auto shop. This link gives the basic hurdles for the 20B FC swap:

Also see the 20B subforum on this web site.

BTW, the Motec will not run split ignition, either, but since this is purely an emissions issue most people will not care.
