How to get oil through the cooler when doing a complete change

Hello, I just put my engine back in the car and am ready to add oil, I am worried about not building oil pressure because the lines of the oil cooler lines are empty. What should I do? I have cranked and built oil pressure, but it does not hold after I stop cranking, this normal?

That's normal. Pressure is only created when the pump is turning, otherwise the oil draining back through to the oil pan will quickly lose pressure.

As long as you crank it enough to see pressure register on the gauge, I wouldn't worry about it. However, when you actually start the engine:

1. Watch the gauge to make sure it comes up and stays up.

2. Have a friend around to look for leaks in the engine bay.

Just in case.
