have a lock smith make you a key. They can do that just by trying with a blank one.

To open the glovebox because it's locked?

You could drill, or cut, the plastic insert that contains the lock (I'd suggest that you get a new lock set for the car with the proper piece that you're removing. The glove box lock simply prevents the latch from being triggered. If you get the insert out, you can trigger the latch and open the glovebox. The insert is held in place by two philips screws and is replaceable.

I always use two large paper clips to pic those kinda locks that are siimple but the FC glove box uses the same key as the doors and ignition so I don't think it will be too easy to pic it.

True, uses same key but the lock setup is different for the glove box than the door or ignition. With some patience, the glovebox can be easiliy opened. Just need to have one or two very small flathead screwdrivers.

The key you have may be a valet key. Valet keys do not open the glove box, storage bins or trunk/hatch.

Check to make sure you just don't need a real key instead of a valet key first before you bust something open.

I suppose you could go to your mazda dealer and get another key cut from the vin

quick question, you are pushing the key in while turning it right? maybe you're not used to that, but maybe i'm just stating the obvious and a dumbass for suggesting it.

Accually this does make sence cuz my key is difficult to get past the acc part.

Where does the key stop when you turn it off does it just go to acc or all the way off?

he means have you tried pushing it in, turning it AWAY from the ON position to pull it out. Some cars have buttons, FC's you have to push the key in while turnign it off

The glovebox is easy to "pry" open. A slim flat head screw driver can pry it open. Pry the door open a little and study the locking mechanism. Its pretty simple to get it to unlock.

OR

Mazda dealer charges $30 bux to make a key from your vin number. A locksmith will probably charge you half or that.

I have a magic ignition. I can pull my key out at any position even when its in the on position and the car is running. I feel so special and yet scared at the same time.

I agree, I can get the bins and glovebox opened easily with 1 or 2 flatheads. Even the door lock with some jiggling of the handle. Our cars are surprisingly easy to break into. Which can be a good or bad thing.

go to the dealer and have them make you a key...........it workes, or you could always take a lock outa the the storage bin and take into a lock smith and have him make a ket to fit that...........dont use a ******* crow car to pry open your glove box
