I used zip ties also.
After that they one still hung a little low. I took a 2 foot length of 4x4 post and a sledge to the hangers to lift one side a bit. It's not perfect now, but pretty close. Sometimes things need a bit of persuasion.

I've used zip ties, .041 safety wire (just about coat hanger thickness, lol), but what I've found works best is.........Another doughnut. Put two in the spot you want to "pull up" on, in other words...
BTW- anything metallic, like coat hangers and safety wire, will sooner or later eat through the car's metal standoffs from the vibration and normal exhaust system movements...

same prob with my new rb system, i think they messed up a batch or something, my rotary mechanic said the last few he put on were like that, just bend the hangers a little thats what i did perfect now

I found that the exhaust hangers couldn't really handle the weight of the thick-wall steel on an RB true-dual exhaust. I'm going to spend Saturday morning getting my exhaust to hang perfectly with the aid of zip-ties.

I can't believe the best suggestion so far is zip ties...
Here's what I did with mine. Both mufflers were hanging lower than I wanted, so with the car up on a hoist the two mufflers were propped up so that both tips were pressed hard against the bumper. This creates tension in the pipes from being bent. They an oxy-acetylene torch was used to heat up the upwards bends infront of the mufflers. When the pipe gets really hot, the tension in the metal is released and when the pipes cool they will keep the shape they were pushed them into. Once the props were released the mufflers dropped a bit and say at a much nicer looking height, 15-20mm higher than before and with just the right clearance to the bumper.

i have my exhaust attached with ziptie and stock hangars, the zipties are actually quite strong, even the cheap ones, my exhaust looks liek crap though its bent up the the passenger side muffler angles up a bit and the y pipe hangs down, stupid ******* rusted up ****!!!!!

Seriously, I thought I had a bad. RB really must have a bad batch. I did it the old fashion way, a torch and a hammer.

well i used some zipties its better but not great, and one snapped already. i put 2 per hanger and they are rated at 50lbs. are there stronger ones than that? i tried the hammer and post but my car was too low, and my hydrolic jack is broke. so i bend the hanger up with the shitty jack the car comes with just by pushing a post into the hanger. it still needs a little work but its alot better.
