How to find electrical short...
My headlights have been acting really weird recently. I got into an accident awhile ago that pushed the bumper support frame back. I had the body shop straighten out the frame and reinstall the headlights, and everything worked great for about 2 months.
However, about a week ago one of my headlights stopped popping down. I thought that maybe the linkage was jammed, but when I opened the hood everything seemed fine...except that the motor and all the metal around it was burning hot. I pulled the retractor fuse and opened both the headlights by hand, figuring I had a blown motor.
However, now the circuit going through the headlight fuse is shorted too, and I don't know what to test to find the short? The wires seem fine (none are dangling or melted) and I am a bit of a newb to car electronics.
Anyone ave instructions or tips?
Thanks.
