How do you test the AFM?

I have been trying to find out how to test the AFM to see if it is working properly, but couldn't find anything. And Haynes manual says to take the part to a dealer to have it checked. Is there anybody out there that knows how to check to the AFM to see if it is working properly?

The procedure is listed in the Mazda factory service manual. You can access it, or download it for free, at these web sites:

Thanks. I don't see why they couldn't have put that information in the Haynes manual.
