how do you install a tack in a rx7?

how do you install a tack in a rx7?

i was wondering how do you install a tack in a rx7 is it the same on any car which i think it aint but if it isnt can someone help me on this thanks.

it is called a tach...

and I would use the mounting brackets it came with, or build a custom bracket if I wanted it in a place that the brackets wouldn't mount.

and I would use the factory Tach wire for the signal (yel/blu, found at the trailing coil, the power steering CPU, the cluster, the cruise control).

i just hooked it up and i have a problem with it my stock tack says im reading 3 grand and the new one say something totaly differnet and it dosent look right eighter so do you think i should put it in the trailing coil and set it to a four cyl or what im kinda stuck here and if so if sone one has done this can you put some pics up please thanks a bunch.

For a twin-rotor you set it to 4-cyl.

Why do you even want an aftermarket tach? The stock one is bigger than most, works just as well, won't get you called a ricer and won't get your car broken into...

it only goes up to 10 hahaha sure they may call me a ricer but ill smoke them and call them slow rice and get a better car that has power.thanks for the info thoug guys

I am going to be getting a dual range tach, as the smaller steering wheel I want will block my view of the stock tach.
