Jesus, how are some of you finding so much trouble removing spark plugs. they arent that hard to reach are they? Might be a bit tight but with a 1/2 ratchet and socket and maybe a universal, its no problem. If its so stuck that you need a breaker bar... that might be a problem.

The problem was that he was trying to use a box wrench, but hes already realized that was the problem.

No wonder so many of you have high post counts on here. You all like to say the same exact thing everyone else said!

If you can't figure out how to do a spark plug change on a 13b (even if it has PS and AC) you should probably be paying someone to do it. My guess is it is not a lack of skill it is most likely a lack of the correct tools for the job.

Barrow some tools or pay someone to change them for you.

Hey no need to give them flak, everyones gotta start somewhere. Some take longer than others to get comfortable with working on cars.

I changed the plugs in my lexus the other day, it took about two hours. Then I did my 7 and it took less that a half hour. I always replace each wire as I do each plug. Then when I have all the new plugs in I replace each wire-one-at-a-time. i messed up once and it took me over 8 hours to get it right.

I miss my old Prelude, could change all 4 plugs in under 5 minutes, and thats with removing the cover, undoing the wires, lubing each plug up with some anti seize and whatnot. My FB is super easy too since it has nothing but an alt. w/ no emmisions stuff, clean shot at all 4 plugs

I do backup/repeat what people say a lot. That's because a lot of people give wrong answers (even me from time to time ) and the right ones need to be reinforced. If someone posted a wrong answer, then the right answer was only posted once, who would you go with if you didn't know better? 50/50 chance... However, if a wrong answer is posted, then the right one with 5 people confirming it, the choice is pretty simple. If that makes me a post *****, so be it. I'd rather post and help out then not post at all.

I already said I didn't have the right tools.

And considering the car dosen't run because the spark plugs are not sparking, I'd have to tow it to a garage and then get charge for 1 hour of labour for 5 minutes of work. Why the **** would I do that? It's more cost effective to just go and get a deep socket set. It's too much hassle to go and get tools on the weekend. Between laundry, groceries, writing reports for work, and upkeep for the house there just isn't any time for it especially when I work right by Canadian Tire during the week.

My current lack of tools is due to me living away from home for a little over a year now. What I wouldn't give to go swipe some of my stepdad's mastercraft sockets

tackle them from the top. get that pesky a/c hose out of the way(1 10mm nut) and try that. another good way is to get at them from underneath the car it'll work. i used to do it often on my old 88 TII before i sold it.
