How do you get the clutch fan/shroud off?
I got to this point in my teardown, and I'm a bit stumped. I can't seem to get any of the bolts off of the clutch fan, and I can't remove the shroud while the clutch fan is on. Anyone done this before (I'm sure)?

stick a screw driver between two nuts to lock it in place, then lean the other way with a wrench, break the bolt loose by tapping the wrench with a mallet.

Don't try to get the shroud off.
You could break your radiator neck the way I did getting it off, when you get the fan off you'll be able to pull the shroud.
Good thing that radiator had a hole in the top anyway... gee I wonder why, so brittle I pushed a little with the shroud and it crumbled.
Do what he says with the screwdriver to hold the fan still... otherwise you'll regret things... make sure you don't strip those bolts... I stripped one and had to use vice grips eventually... god damn what a pain.

Well, I have to remove all of my pullies. I'm going to take out the battery and tray, see how that works. That way it looks like I can move it to the driver's side a bit and get it to clear the radiator neck.

I just use 2 10mm wrenches to remove replace fan(one holds the other snap it loose), always worked no prob, and ya the shroud you gotta be a little careful like others have said as so many plastic parts, sensors etc are old/brittle.

I think there were lower bolts holding the shroud on to my car. I don't remember, but I had to disconnect the upper rad. hose, and remove the battery at least, and I think I moved the air box too. It took some flexing, but it came out.

Unbolt the fan/clutch assembly from the water pump pulley. Remove the fan assembly, then the shroud comes out easily.
