How do I take apart my air pump??

OK so heres a weird one for you guys. I decided i wanted to put my cat converter back on the car to see if it really does affect my boost. (3"bonz on rb full ex) but my air pump doesn't seem to want to turn any more. I Pulled the whole damn thing apart. The big pully wheel is easy, the back is a little tougher, the "apex seals" and bearing are a little more complicated but as long as you line everything up right to reassemble they are fine. I have the whole thing apart but i cant seem to get the "pulley" off. I tried using a gear puller, to pull it off but it cant get a good lock on to it to pull it. Shot the crap outa it with WD40, Break Free, BPblaster etc. and nada. Big *** hammer, same ****.

I know that if i can just get the damn thing off i can get the rust and grit outa there and regrease it.

So any body have any ideas????

OH and i know that they are fairly cheap but i wanna get THIS one working. ITS PERSONAL NOW!!!

Thanks AUGie

I've taken several apart, but forget whether or not I took the pulley off. IIRC, once you get the back off, you can pull the vanes straight up off the shaft. Mine had siezed also, but once I removed the vanes, cleaned the inside walls, the shaft, and the vane "bearings", it freed right up. I do remember that there are differences between models, so what works with one, might not work with another. The one I'm discussing was on an 87 TII.

I have a broken one somewhere in the garage. If I get a chance, I'll look at it tonight to see if the front pulley comes off.

By the way, you can get them on ebay for $5 or less.
