I'm running real rich and I was ondering how to fix this, or do I need an SAFC to do that. Its a stock 89 GXL. Need help with this stuff here.

First, how do you know its running rich? Where is it rich? Entire band, or just on the bottom, top, etc.

 

Mine runs rich to. Extremely rich. It pops misses exc. Bad gass exc exc exc. I think one reason is the mods. put on two cats and cover some of your performance intake. Reset the ECU and change the oxy senser. Thats what im gonna try before emisions testing. C..ya

 

I know its running rich because you can smell it and Its all through the band. If you sit and rev it in the drive way you would prolly get high.

Try lowering the fuel pressure if its rich throughout the entire band.

First however, I'd get some better proof than your nose...

lol, go some some pot, get high, and pass out that way. At least then you'll have a great night sleep

 

Get an EGT gauge.

 

How do you do what?

Check the fuel pressure solenoid (**** I wish I had my manuals with me...), check the fuel pressure via a manual gauge, check the A/F by reading your 02 sensor voltage and reporting the results...
