Comes with a basemap and all. When I installed it on my TII, it took all of 10 minutes. Then I just plugged in the laptop and drove to church with autotune turned on. (I already had a wideband installed)
If you dont call that plug and play, I've got no idea what you're thinking.

The point being made was fairly obvious:

He never said it shouldn't be used on a daily driver and he was clearly not referring to pre-built units. Not everyone wants to go that route, but the DIY approach obviously isn't smart if you don't have another car to use.

thIs is a young kid with very litle knowledge of rotarys and a budget! Megasqiurt will fry his brain and then we will all be responsible for advising him of that. Safc-2 is virtually simple and can be done step by step with little to no probs. Now wich way would you recommend this to any beginning rotary nut?

true on the turbo cars only... on their site i believe thats what they state... which is also what i'll most likely get for my car. i think they say something about truly adding in a fuel map instead of "fooling" the ecu or something like that... i'm not sure, check it out for yourself i guess.

To answer the gentlemans original question, Megasquirt is cheap, can save you gas mileage, and can give you a boost in performance. It is a good start to making a fun N/A FC.
Edit-- I just finished reading the thread, which I should have done before, since everything that I said had pretty much already been said.
The Megasquirt can be used as a full standalone, or as a piggy back to just control fuel, and leave the rest alone. You can get pre-built units for very little and then the tuning is the hard part but there are tons of people you can ask on here when you are trying to get it perfect.
