Question how would i know if..

the car is just like i bought it

K&n cone intake
bonez superflow cat (1)
borla exhaust

it seems like it runs much faster than other rx7's i have driven which leads me to believe it might be ported. my gas mileage is lower than other7's but it is also running rich. how would i know if it was ported without taking the engine apart? thanks. any other suggestions to improve my hp without goind turbo or nitrous. thanks

my engine was rebuilt by rotary performance about 2 years ago, based on the price of the rebuild on my receipt i think it was ported but rotary performance is not able to tell me, will find out when i take it apart to port it

intake & exhaust makes an amazing amount of difference on these cars.
And running rich makes a big diff too... and that could adversely affect gas mileage :P
To improve HP get a fuel computer and/or bigger injectors.
There is no way to tell if its ported, unless you have another motor for comparison. You can get close to telling by running a 1/4 thow. If you run <15 then its prolly ported, otherwise no.

lol... I hope you're kidding.

Larger injector reduces the smallest precision injector width. Not to mention without a fuel controller its just going to pour x amount extra gas in richening the chambers.

Rich = power loss, not power gain.

On the other hand, if its a blown engine and you're running incredibly lean, bigger injectors will keep you safe... In turn you can run more boost, more fuel, more boost, ect ect...

But "Larger injectors makes you go mad fast"... cough*noob*cough

thats beacuse theres not much sense in it.

"To improve HP get a fuel computer to lean out the fuel mix. Later get bigger fuel injectors only if you can't keep a decent mixture"
Better?

And it wasn't ,my quoteage.

you could always dyno it to see where it stands vs. stock
