how do I get a little deeper sound from my rx7's exhaust

right now my setup is the RB header, into a straight pipe going to a motoria dual catback. I was listening to some clips in another thread about the N1 duals and remember hearing that sound and am wanting something a little more along the lines of that. without changing the actual catback itself is there a premuffler I would be able to put in there to deepen the sound a little bit or is that not going to make a whole lot of difference to the overall tone? if it is going to change the sound which premuffler would be recomended?

If you replace the straight pipe with the RB presilencer or maybe a magnaflow or something then it should at least take out some of the high end buzziness it probably has, and probably get you a deeper sound.

after i did my exhaust it was high pitched and rather quiet, then i realized the mufflers were really good at quieting things down, i made some new ones and the exhaust note is much lower now and louder, so i would look into your mufflers.

Put a Borla XR-1 muffler in place of the straight pipe. It gets rid of all the raspy, highy pitch sounds of the rotary. We put them on all the RX-7s that go to the shop to have their exhaust done.

Most any pre-silencer in the cat position will do the job, as long as it will stand up to the heat & sharp vibrating pulses of the RE exhaust.

A turbo also knocks the sharpness out of the exhaust song.
