Easy answer would be Turbo.

If you got a top of the line exhaust, intake, ported the hell out of it, reprogram the ECU, different fuel rails, different rotors........................

ahhhhhhh turbo is the way to go

Just a turbo upgrade? I wanting to know, I plan on boosting it soon, after I rebuild the motor. Figured I'll just knock it out all at once.

If you're going for the "all at once" feeling:

-Rebuild, but BREAK IT IN!
-Port the sucker before rebuild.
-Large turbo
-Large intercooler
-Free flow intake (cone filter)
-Free flow exhaust
I think you'll also need a boost controller, FCD, and likely more goodies yet. My advice is not to buy anything if you plan on turboing it. A lot of things aren't interchangable between turbo/non-turbo engines.

uber turbo
aftermarket engine management
alcohol or water injection (to keep intake temps down=less detonation)
free flowing exhaust
cold intake
FMIC
proper suspension, tires setup (if you can't get it to the ground 300+ hp isn't going to do you any good)
upgrade cooling system
tons of stuff, use the search button
LS1 swap
if your looking for reliable daily driven hp the last one is your only hope haha

You're kidding me right? Not to be a *****, so please don't think I'm flaming you, but the whole reason I bought the 7 was due to the fact that I like rotarys, and the body style of the FC. It's almost sacrilige to me to even consider dropping anything other than a rotary into a 7. If I wanted a LS1 I would have bought a camaro or corvette. My thing is I love getting as much power as possible to be extracted out of a small engine. Putting the big boys to shame with a 1.3 liter engine make's my day. Definintaly gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside afterwards.

On the other hand, i could give a **** less about the RX8's.

He is being legit, 325hp at the wheels is asking alot from an N/A even if you boosting it. But hey, throw enough money at something you can get it done.

What do I need to do to get it there and what kinda budget am I looking at? Thanks.
He did answer your question suggesting that LS1, prolly same costs to use than reliably boosting and supporting your N/A engine.

a bridge port and a 100 hp shot of nos will get you there. but most likely with a turbo you will need to swap your entire drivetrain.
