All you have to do is unplug it then there is two 10mm nut's and thats all. But why are you wanting to disconnect it for? your car will not run good at all without it!

IIRC, there are three fasteners...the two 6mm bolts you can see from the side and one Phillips head screw on the underside of the throttle body.

No offense, but if you can't figure out how to unplug a sensor, you should immediately step back, close your hood, and don't dick around with anything on the car. Take it to someone who knows what they are doing, even if it if another rx7 owner across town.

If you just want to know how the car will run (or not, actually) without the TPS, then just unplug it and go for a drive. There's absolutely no need to remove it physically.

On s5 cars with the screw on the bottom of the TB, I never reinstall that one. It's not necessary and it makes the TPS swap a 15-20 minute job instead of the 3 minute job it should be.

+1 on that strategy.
I found it weird and counterintuitive that Mazda used hex head bolts on the two accessible fasteners and a Phillips on the bottom one.
Odd decision, that.

LOL, I thought the phillips head was something that wasn't stock. I was cursing the previous owner for everything he was worth when I ran into that one.
