How to disable the shift light?

I was wondering how to disable the shift light and buzzer, at fuel cut? The dummy light is also pretty annying durring normal every day driving. The factory service book doesn't got into great detail on the unit, but just basically how to test it for proper operation.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but the search function didn't yield worthwhile results.

I like the buzzer, so I say leave it there. But, the shift light that I had on my 88 SE was uber annoying... I took the gauge pod out and removed the light bulb. thats it. no more shift light. the buzzer should be similar, but you wouldn't want to disable it... its the same thing that warns you of overheating and oil level... which is a good thing at times.

Thanks... I'll be pulling the blub next week or placing some electical tape on the back of the gauge face.

There's a way to adjust where the overrev buzzer sounds.. some potentiometer somewhere.. Anyone got a link to that writeup?

WHY?!?!?!

Use it as a benifit, not as an enemy.

It is there for a reason.

Uh, if you want to get rid of the shift light, cut the wire going to pin 1K on the ECU (Black/Red stripe). It'll never bother you again!
