how did you guys changed ADAPTER + FILTER?

Are you referring to installing a cone filter? If your car is an 86-88, youll need to remove the airbox, and unbolt the air flow meter. Youll then use the 4 hole left from unbolting your airbox to bolt on an intake adapter. Youll then put the filter and tighten it down.
If you have an 89-91, youll just take out and toss the airbox, and bolt on the filter.
If you have an 89-91, youll just take out and toss the airbox, and bolt on the filter.

This is a really old pic of my engine bay. The small hose going to the air box can be capped with nylon leggings or a little filter of some kind.
Mine's also a 3" but I welded it up out of steel.

ive read that some filters are oil based. ive come to understand that the oil based filters tend to leave deposits on the internals of the intake, causing problems down the road. is this something that others have experienced??
