How to check TPS with just one meter?

Thats it...I only have one and I heard I need two. I Have done the light bulb methed until one light just came on but theirs still this slight jerking under light throtle. Like an on off. So how do I check them individually if I can. Its obviously the 89-91 engine. thnx

I dont remember the wire colors off-hand, but heres how you do it. Follow the wires from the narrow range TPS to the plug. 2 of them should be on one end of a plug. Insert a paperclip into each of those through the back of the connector, and clip the leads for a volt meter onto the paperclips. Then set the voltage to 1V when the car is fully warm and idling.

Set the voltage by turning the adjuster screw? My car likes to jerk under light throttle also, like the other guys, like an on-off switch. When I checked my TPS with an ohmmeter, the ohms were in the right spot under WOT, but one was a little low and one was a little high when the throttle was closed. I tried adjusting the TPS adjuster screw, and got the readings a little closer, but then it started doing that jerking under light throttle. Also, is it necessary to reset the ECU after tinkering with the TPS?
