Replace all the coolant hoses, flush yor radiator and oil cooler, replace your oil cooler lines with s/s. Make sure all shrouds are intact and installed right. Switch to EVANS NPG+, Ditch the OMP, run premix.

CHANGE YOUR OIL EVERY 2.5K miles!!!!

Ted, uhhh he said his T2.

Don't race it. (Yeah, I know.... unreasonable).

What banzai said... along with buying a daily driver.
just kidding, man.

You may want to change out your vacuum lines with silicon or new ones.

To add. If you have mods, just make sure that the ECU that you are using is tuned properly (close to 14.7 mixture) as possible. The ratios must be close for TOTAL reliablity.

Make sure that you have NO leaks anywhere. If you car is tight and well kept, you will have YEARS of fun.

This has all been covered before, so do a search for "reliability" or "maintenance" or "dependable" and you'll find LOADS of information:

Off the top of my head:

Get the FULL 60K mile service done (fuel injector cleaning especially).

At 85-95K miles replace the TPS, upgrade the exhaust (downpipe to replace the pre-cat, performance main cat, catback exhaust).

Switch to redline synthetic in the transmission & rear differential (stay with regular engine oil in the engine).
