a guy at my shop did the V8 swap into an RX-7 and now the buzzer just sits on, so how do you disable it? Is there a fuse you can pull or a wire you can cut?

 

The buzzer is the RX-7's cry for help for having a V8 engine in it. He deserves to have to hear it for doing such a terrible thing to the car

 

My belief is *only with a soldering iron being taken to its connections on the back of the combination meter*.

They didn't feel like spending $1400 + in engine repairs to have 146hp, they opted to drop in the 350 with a n20 that they had at the shop and have 400hp *shrug*

Don't ask me, I didn't agree with the idea at first, but it's a pretty mean little car. It's damn fast too

 

Step 1: Find buzzer

Step 2: Get big screw driver

Step 3: Stab repeatedly until it dies

Step 4: Be happy it's gone

 

is this the coolant buzzer your talking about? if so just ground that wire on the top of the radiator....

 

It's all the same buzzer, dvst8. It's in the warning thing. Oil, EXH TEMP, Coolant, all use the same buzzer.

it'll go off for many reasons... and there are different buzzers.

are there dash lights on?

constant buzz ? or beeping noise?

 

I want to know how to get rid of the beeping noise in my car. Its cause of the steering wheel I put on it and something to do with the power steering. Anyone know how to get rid of this too. I just took out the fuse but now I don't have power steering, (which is ok), but it would still be nice to know how to get rid of it.

 

Why don't you just take the power steering the reat of the way out since it is just dead weight in you car now.

Pulling the fuse also kills several other circuits and will cause other problems. Put the fuse back in.

Unplug the power steering computer if you are unable to fix the car and steering correctly.

 

the power steering computer is located under the drivers side dash. almost by the drivers knees (try to imagin)

Just unplug the rather large connector.. and your done. no more beep... beep... beep (P/S)
