How bad is it? Stuck 6 Port.

How bad is it to drive around with one 6 port actuator stuck open? My front one open all the time. How will it effect the rear rotor? I know the car runs rich, the mileage is horrible and the exhaust smells like fuel. Also there is a faint gas smell under the hood, but I can't find a leak anywhere. Could this be associated to the open acutuator? I recently purchased this particular FC, the kid who had it just did an complete tuneup with what appears to be autozone plugs. What is the proper plug and heat range for the FC?

hm... its going to be pretty hard on your engine. just do what i do, hit it with a hammer, curse at it. then, after about a minute of reserching, just yank it out. just yank out the whole system./ it will majke the car faster, no lie.

you meen spark plugs? well make sure they are ngk because the rotary engins really only take one kind of plug for. and with the aux port stuck open air comes out of the port and through the exhaust easier/ quicker . im getting ready to wire my aux ports open. but with open aux ports in 1st and second gear your car loses acceleration. and the reason why you smell gas is becaus of when your car is cold it runs really rich and it doesnt burn all the gas or just make sure if you have an S4 that the Pulsation damper isnt leaking gas

if you just wanna balance it out, why not wire open the rear? at least they'd be the same until you can fix it.

Disconnect the actuator, blast the opening where the control rod goes with some ATF and work it back and forth until your fingers are raw. Voila...freed 6 port sleeve.

...if you're lucky. I had to soak my entire intake manifold in Kill You Carburetor Cleaner before the rod would budge. that sucker was stuck.

Mine is really stuck. I'll take it off this weekend once I get some free time and access to my tool box. I have an S4 so I can't just wire it open.

WTF are you talkin about? Air goes into the port and into the engine, not vise versa. Just get it to where the ports are either both open or both closed. And wiring them open permanently will not give you any power, in fact you will lose a little acceleration from the low end. The proper plugs for an n/a are

NGK BUR9EQ for trailing (it will be marked with a T)
NGK BUR7EQ for leading (marked with a L)

LOL. I just ignored his post. Thanks. I'll just pull the thing this weekend and try to fix it.

Having one open and one closed won't hurt the engine unless you rev the **** out of it. The difference in torque between having an aux port open and closed doesn't really get large until above 5k rpm.

My car had one stuck always closed before I discovered it in a rebuild (for unrelated reasons).

Hey, don't take my advice above unless you can move it a bit by hand. I tried to pull one out yesterday and broke off the end of it when I tried to grab and turn it with vice grips! Luckily, I have an extra one of just about everything
