Hot Weather, And Heat build up Problem!
OK so i have an S4 gxl. came with the Ac. took the ac pump out, The electric fan is still there and use it once in awhile to help with the cooling.. During Hot days Going up Hills the s4 stock gauge will Practicly hit dead center and i beleive thats a bit warm IMO. Since i have the stock gauge i cant tell the exact temp.
However in night driving or cool weather the gauge will not hardly Leave the bottom.. But the car still would have to be operating around 195 for the thermostat to open..
Wtf should i do. The Stock pully fan seems to be in working order but just cant pull the heat off fast enough.. However the pully fan will only pull air for a short short time and slow down agian. Even though the car isnt realy cooled down...
If i come to a stop and idle the heat comes back down and almost touches the cold part of the gauge...
Also.. I notice they have an extra spring on the rx7 thermostats.. WHY? to hold the Water back longer before it can hit the thermostat?
Should i run without a thermostate in the summer? Anyone have luck with that??
And would a Efan pull as much air as these pully fans???
Because it sure pulls a hell of alot of air IMO!!

do you have your fan shroud on, that helps a ton. dont remove the thermostat, it's there for a reason. People have had success with the e fan, the only I hear is, its hard on the electrical system. some have upgrade to the fd alternator

i noticed that my temp gauge has been rising up a bit more than usual with this heat, but thats usually due to the extra load of the ac pump. it could be just the excess heat.

You don't need to freak out about seeing 1/2 way on the S4 gauge. That's roughly 200*, and your stock e-fan doesn't even come on until ~210*. The thermostat cracks at 183* and is fully open at something like 195*, so being around this temperature range is normal. Do not remove the thermostat. That's a bad idea. And the lastly, the stock clutch fan pulls a lot of air, so most e-fans available won't outflow it. You'd have to go with a big *** fan that sucks down current.
It's hot outside. Your car is fine operating at 200*. If it starts getting up to about the 3/4 mark (~215*), then start to worry.
