FL Hot exhaust

Ok please forgive my kinda stupid question. I just put on my apexi gt spec exhaust a few weeks ago. I havent driven the car but about 10 miles if that. Today i took it around the block a few times and when i got out i touched the muffler to see how warm it was. I heard rotories run hotter than most cars. my muffler was REALLY hot. Is that normal/ thanks

A non-turbo rotary engine usually runs an EGT around 1650-1700F. Don't touch the exhaust system when it is hot! Also, be careful not to park over flammable things like leaves or tall dried grass.

the muffler not the DP or cats. just the muffler. I know better than to touch any piping near the motor
