Hose blows off, boost screams to 18psi

Yesterday I installed a MBC in my car. I just placed it between the wastegate and the other line. Now, there are 3 lines there. One goes to the compressor housing, another branches off the hard line to the wastegate, and the other runs to...I dunno. Boost sensor maybe? It runs across the engine to the other side. Point is, a lil while ago I ran to go get gas and that line blew off. Boost went ape **** all the way to 18 before I could let off. I imagine I did some damage. I'm going to do a compression check tomorrow with my fingers crossed. My question is: Did I install the MBC in the right place? I mean, should there still be a line running to the boost sensor and compressor housing? The MBC isnt from any company so I dont have instructions. Its just one that I got a hold off and am using in the car. Any and all help will be helpful.

The third line is for the factory boost controller. You have to remove that line when using a MBC. There should be 1 line running from the compressor housing to the mbc, then another from the MBC to the wastegate actuator. I take it you have a fcd?

Thats one of the times id rather hit fuel cut lol.

holy ****. I rememebr the same happened to me and I saw a quick spike to 1.2 bar...which is about 18psi. It threw me entire body into the seat lol, luckily I didn't do any damage. Cross your fingers, you might have made it ok.

Drox nailed the hosing for the mbc dead on.

That line goes to the solenoid for the S5's factory electronic boost control.

No you did not. You should have done a little research before you started messing with important things like boost control. You cannot fit a boost controller to a car that already has one without disabling the stock system first.

What kind of boost controller is it? Ball & spring? Bleeder?

Do keep those fingers crossed. I have been to 18 psi a couple of times and have done no damage that I know of. Good luck.

My dumbass drove for about a month with that line knocked off, fried my turbo and took out a coolant seal.... Oh well, live and learn. That's one of the things that should be at the top of the list of things that seem good, but are actually very, very bad: "my car is suddenly much faster and I don't know why"

So how would you go about installing it on an S5?

remove the stock lines so you only have 2 metal nipples left (wastegate and turbo compresser)

ok, thanks for the info. I DID a search. But I couldnt find the info I could use as to what to do about that line, so I just left it alone. Its a bleeder type. It looks just like the ones from I think its either Greedy or HK$. I havent done a compression check yet, cause I just woke up. But I went to sleep with my fingers crossed. I hope that helps.
