Question Hood Scoop?

Can anyone tell me what's the use of a hood scoop?
Does it come from the factory or is it an aftermarket part?
I thought at first that only turbos got it but this car on ebay has one too.

Where?

I didn't see a hood scoop?

I supose if you put a turbohood with scoop on a non turbo, you might cooldown the engine more.(?)

Yes, only the turbo models came with a hood scoop, and also I dont see a scoop on that car in the link, so.. And the hood scoop on the turbo models leads to the intercooler to cool the turbo boost, so thats its function. Alot of people put the turbo hoods on non-turbo cars, its just for looks, no real purpose.

Eh, it's kinda like a fresh air intake, you should find one, maybe in a junkyard or something... cant be too expensive -even from the dealer.

im sure everyone on this list has a spare one too..you'd be better off taking off the airbox and putting on an aftermarket filter. such as an HKS, K&N, or AEM. They make it easier for the car to breathe.
