Get someone to help you move it off once you've removed one bolt each side and loosened the other one almost off each side.

Place rags around the base of the windshield near the corners in case the hood moves toward the windshield. Plan ahead and have some cardboard already in place to rest the hood on (edges if storing the hood vertical).

You can also tape cardboard to the edges before removing the hood.

A turbo aluminium hood is easy. The heavier steel hood is a bit more difficult. Prop the hood up. Remove the four bolts. Maybe put a cloth under each rear corner before doing this to protect the paint.

IF the wind isn't blowing hard the hood will stay up with the hood prop, just be careful. Then carefully lower the hood without latching it. Stand in front of it and lean over and with a hand on each side of the hood, lift up and away. With two people it would be easier but one person can do this fairly easy and takes only ten or so minutes. Makes it easier to work on the thing and actually helps when reinstalling a upper intake manifold on a turbo. I'm talking the water line on the bottom of it. You have access to it or better access to it with the hood off.

You guys need to train more. My GTU (read steel) hood is more than light enough so I can lift it myself, I just use some tape around the edges.

It was a cake walk to remove the hood by myself, steel.
