Thumbs up homemade TID

hey guys, just made myself a homemade TID. I used the intstructions off of Scott89TII's site www.1300cc.com

although the 45 degree bend seemed a tad too long i had fitment issues. luckily, i cut a short enough piece of pipe that barely gives me enough clearance to stick my filter on. its a really tight fit and i also had to remove the windshield washer fluid neck.

well first impression, my car pulls hard now! i wasnt paying too much attention but i noticed my boost pressure increased one or two.

i also noticed my idle raised a bit. now around 1300. drove it about an hour ago and it was fine below 1000.

I couldn't find ABS piping anywhere, I tried all the home depots in my area, farm and fleet, menards, all the pluming supply stores in town...nothing. I couldn't find a mandrel bent 3" pipe for awhile either, most exhaust shops only had crush bent, or they didn't have any 3" piping. I finally found a peice of exhaust pipe that is about 14" long....I still have to cut it down a few inches before I put it on. Can't wait to get it on though, I'm sick of my shitty idle.

I'd bet your idleing higher because you had a leak before and replacing the TID sealed it up. I'd just use the throttle stop screw on the TB to lower the idle back down.
